Creation Cycle: The Story of All Things

What does it mean
to be born of Adam?

Lesson 14 Introduction

With Adam as our covenant head, we are recipients of his inclination to disobedience. We are happy to do almost anything, as long as we are the final authority on what that anything is. What we want to do most is whatever we want to do. God, however, has created us for obedience. Only as we become joyfully obedient to him will we flourish in this life. Only as we walk in his ways can we understand and fulfill our created purpose.

Given our brokenness, our only hope is to be re-made, born under a new covenant head, Jesus Christ. He along can make us alive. He alone can give us a new nature bent on obedience rather than rebellion. We need to be born in the image of Christ so that we can joyfully obey our maker and flourish in his ways.
